hi i%26#039;m 15 years old and i%26#039;m currently going through puberty....the back of my head just starting breaking out,...i%26#039;ve been using a facial cleanser and most of my face is almost acne free now....but the back of my head is breaking out now!!!not in the hair reigon,...but like below my hair line, IE; behind my ears and below my hairline .. i know they are pimples, they look like pimples....is there anything wrong..? or is breaking out in the back of your head normal?|||Hello,
These sound like pimples or acne. Acne is due to an overactivity and plugging of the oil glands. The main cause of acne is increased levels of hormones during adolescence.
Acne usually lasts until age 20 or even 25. It is rare for acne to leave any scars unless picked.
Just keep you face clean by washing with a mild soap atleast twice a day.Pat it dry and do not rub it.Avoid picking or pressing the acne. You can also use Benzoyl peroxide 5% lotion or gel once at bedtime. An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face. If your skin becomes red or peels, you are using too much of the medicine or applying it too often.
Hope it helps.Take care and regards.|||It sounds pretty normal. Try using a shampoo with tea tree oil, and make sure you%26#039;re washing everything back there as much as you wash your face.
Corporate Mom, your son should try Murad Body Acne spray. It worked MIRACLES on my back and chest acne.|||honey you don%26#039;t know what very bad acne is if you are just concerned about a few pimples behind your hair where nobody can see them. My poor son has it all over his face, shoulders, back, neck, everywhere. He gets them so big and they hurt him so bad. He%26#039;s ashamed to swim in the summertime because it%26#039;s so bad. So no you sound pretty normal to me. I%26#039;ve had my son to the doctor and he diagnosed it as cystic acne because it%26#039;s big and painful like cysts all over his body. Nothing the doctor has given him or anything over the counter works for him. Proactive kind of works for his face, but it doesn%26#039;t keep him from breaking out just keeps it from getting so out of control. Just be sure you wash your hair frequently, if you%26#039;ve been sweating a lot lately from sports or working out the sweating probably caused it. Other than that I don%26#039;t know because we haven%26#039;t found anything that works.
