Why is it bad to consume iodine in terms of acne?

its in my multivitamins and i heard its bad for the skin, is that true becoz i already have bad acne and dont want to make it worse|||Neither multivitamins nor iodine will unfortunately help your acne. If you have gone beyond the over the counter peroxide cleansers, which do work, then you need to see your GP for topical or oral antibiotics.|||Iodine, as an element, is poisonous. But in a vitamin pill (or other form intended for human consumption), it is iodide, which is a necessary nutrient. I haven%26#039;t heard that iodide is contra-indicated given acne, but if it is, it would be because thyroid production may increase acne. But thyroid is essential, so you can%26#039;t quit iodide altogether.|||Best advice is to drink lots of water cut back on milk and dairy products and any salty snacks and sweets . Start eating lots of fruit and veg Get your doctor to prescribe you some low dose antibiotics but remember they can take a while before they can kick in and then you will see an improvement .

The only problem is that your body gets used to these same antibiotics and you then have to try something else. Like more of a different kind.|||iodine is a substance that breaks up your blood platelets. too much iodine in your blood is not only lethal, but can end up changing the colour of your skin. it is good for curing acne, but not for a long term solution.
