Benzoyl peroxide (Pro-active) bad for acne marks/scars?

So I%26#039;ve decided I am going to use Proactive every morning and night because I was sick of the pimples I was getting on my chin. It%26#039;s been working and I haven%26#039;t really had many pimples after using it.





But I%26#039;ve heard that Benzoyl peroxide makes the red marks and scars from old pimples stay there longer?? And Proactive has Benzoyl peroxide on it..





Any experience with this? Should I stop using this product? Help please..





|||I was wondering the same thing. Benzoyl peroxide sometimes causes a slight burning and peeling affect. So, I thought it may do so by drying up the marks but then again, that is damaged skin. Try using Retin A which Ive read/heard can take away marks. Its suppose to have Alpha hydroxy acids or AHA that renew the skin cells. Some people use it for wrinkles. Also, lemons have AHA and so do tomatos. Some people said they got rid of scars by applying lemon juice, honey, and tomatos to them. Also, apple cider vinegar. Other people have suggested using toothpaste. It didnt seem very effective. You can pick up mederma. Its for raised scars but there have been reports that its helped with acne marks. It depends on how deep the scar.





The Best way to get rid of marks %26amp; scars though is: microdermabrasion, collogen injections, Fractional laser surgery, chemical peels (AHA)- the substance in lemon juice, subsision, and others.





I do not suggest you stop using the product. It will help clear up your acne. If you do not want scars, do not pick your face and you wont have that problem, as my dermatologist said to me I am repeating to you...





hope i could help :)|||From my experience, Benzoyl Peroxide has burnt my face. My face is typically described as an %26#039;T-Zone%26#039; of oil, which includes the nose, forehead, and chin. I do have scarring on my cheeks from that stuff. It kinda burnt, but I think it was a chemical reaction gone bad. Also, try to stay away from too much salicylic acid.(A good amount is anywhere from 1 to 2% if you use it daily) I would suggest one facial scrub with the salicylic acid, and that%26#039;s St. Ive%26#039;s Apricot Scrub Blackhead and Blemish control. This stuff works wonders, and I always get complements on how even and smooth my skin looks, even without makeup on. Also, there%26#039;s an Apricot Blackhead and Blemish Cleanser with the Salicylic Acid in it too. A lot of women use it as a makeup cleanser, however I feel it does %26#039;step up%26#039; my skin care regimen, if you will, and keeps my face blemish free all the time.|||It%26#039;s right that Benzoyl peroxide is used for treating pimples!The result will come quickly when u use it,pimples becomes dry and gets away after about 3 or 5 days!


it%26#039;s not said that Benzoyl peroxide makes the red marks and scars from old pimples stay there longer...maybe u r misunderstand.It can make ur skin red(so avoiding sunshine) during ur treatment and the smell is terrible!if ur skin is thin,be careful!


I know that Proactive comestic have a strongly treament.I think it%26#039;s good for moving acnes but not good if u use it for a long time,...only with chemicals!


I advise u to use Pharmaceutical product or natural one!
