I have really bad acne all over my cheeks, chin, and forehead. I have a low self esteem because of it. I have been dealing with it for over 3 years now and I am fed up with it!!!!!!! I just need something that really works. I have already tried Proactive and some clean and clear face wash. I find myself crying about my ugly face sometimes and just wish all of it would just go away for good. Thank you so much! Any to boast my confindence would be helpful:)|||i seriously once had that.....BAD! it made me so upset i didnt even look at people i didnt want them to see my face... i went to a dermatologist and it was like quite expensive but i would say it was so worth it.... or what i stil do and did was use a lot of foundation.. i know how you feel. good luck! and FYI i wouldnt waste ur money on drugstore stuff i would just save up and buy something promised to work. :)|||Do you have a family doctor you could go to or a dermatologist?
I understand how difficult it can be to have acne.
How long did you try Proactive for? Did you use it regularly? Did you try it for at least a month? a lot of people give up too quickly without realizing that these treatments take TIME.
Proactive has helped TONS of people- I would give it another shot. If not, try to see a doctor about alternative treatments.
ps Don%26#039;t mix Proactive with over the counter acne medicines. It will make your skin worse.|||This is what i do, and it works well for me!
(please note that i don%26#039;t have acne, so i don%26#039;t know how great this will work for you.)
Morning; Neutrogena Astringent/Clean and Clear Morning Burst %26amp; Neutrogena Moisturizer
During the day; Clean and Clear oil absorbing sheets. (they%26#039;re amazing!)
Night: St. Ives Apricot scrub. Neutrogena astringent.
**dont wear foundation, it will make acne look worse.
GOOD LUCK! (:|||I%26#039;ve had friends with severe acne who have had their doctors prescribe them Acutain, and it worked wonders (over several months.)
Acutain is usually for only extreme cases- I have some acne and my doctor prescribed Clyndamiacin and it works really well. I suggest you talk to your doctor or even consult a dermatologist.|||Here is an excellent site with some wonderful options for you. It will definitely help you. Have a look.
http://www.acne-scars.co.nr/|||I%26#039;ve had the same problem as you have. Definately go to your doctor.
Why? She/he can look at your face, see what exactly there is, and prescribe so many different things for it.
There%26#039;s topical (for your face) and a pill (not birth control, it%26#039;s just an acne antibiotic). There are so many out there! Proactive didn%26#039;t work for me either, and I went through almost every over the counter acne solution.
My acne started to clear up so much with help from a doctor. Just make sure you follow all of their instructions and it should help. If not, just go in for another consultation and they%26#039;ll prescribe you something different after a few weeks of treatment.
My acne got worse again, and I went through a few more prescribed treatments, and still nothing worked. I%26#039;m on an acne pill right now that I take at night, and some topical I put on in the morning. There are endless solutions. It sounds expensive, but because your health insurance SHOULD (or your parent%26#039;s) cover most of the costs, it doesn%26#039;t got that much. The pill and topical for 6months supply cost me $9 out of my pocket. :] If you need help to convince your parents, go ahead and tell them that it shouldn%26#039;t cost much, and your doctor%26#039;s visits are usually free for that sort of thing, or VERY cheap. It ends up being cheaper than buying Proactive! xD
Best of Luck to you! ^_^
Don%26#039;t worry, it%26#039;ll all work out.
