Hello everyone! My name is Ashley and I am a sixteen year old girl. Since I have been in the 4th grade, I have suffered from absolutely horrible acne, and honestly, it has been the worst experience of my life. I have tried basically every over the counter treatment like Clearasil and other sorts of things. I also went of Proactiv in the 8th grade for about a year, and it worked wonderfully. I was so happy and thought that I had found a miracle cure. But then it suddenly stopped working and I started breaking out horribly again so I switched to the Extra Strength Proactiv, but that only worked for a few months after and then stopped working. I went to about 4 different dermatologists hoping they could help me with my acne problem, but they all give me medications that never work. Except one doctor that I recently went to told me that I should go on a pill called %26quot;Acutane%26quot; for 5 months and it will supposedly completely clear my acne for the rest of my life! Now I have never heard of this pill and I find it too good to be true. So I was wondering if anyone has ever used it and if it really works. Because I was told that it can effect your liver, which is kind of scary, so I%26#039;m not sure what to think? But unfortunately, even if I do go on this pill, I can%26#039;t go on it until March because I am getting rhinoplasty in December, and since the pill can effect the body%26#039;s healing process, I would need to wait 3 months after my surgery to go on it. So until March, I need to come up with something to keep my face clear and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas? I am so desperate and will take any advice!! Currently, I am back using Proactiv because I%26#039;m so desperate, but it isn%26#039;t working at all and my face is a mess :( So PLEASE give me any advice because I%26#039;m going into my Junior year of high school and am pretty sick of this horrible acne business! Thank you all so much!|||accutane is amazing, go to the dermatologist and say you want to be put on it. You have to get blood withdrawn every month, very very much worth it. was cleared up about 4 months in and haven%26#039; had any acne in 6 months after I stopped taking it.|||I%26#039;ve been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it%26#039;s at.
I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.
I%26#039;m 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.
Literally the best acne face wash I%26#039;ve ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It%26#039;s unique cause of it%26#039;s herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful.
You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn%26#039;t work it will still save you butt on the return policy.
Well good luck and best wishes.|||More than likely, your acne stems from bad eating habits and deficiencies in vital nutrients. Try to cut out all processed foods and drink lots of water. I can personally recommend 3tbls. of flaxseed oil daily. It is an essential fatty acid and is needed to keep the skin smooth and oft, repair tissues, and dsolve fatty deposits that block pores. It also aids in healing. Flaxseed oil is liquid gold; I swear by it. ;)
Some other things you might want to try include:
Garlic- 2 capsules 3 times daily. Garlic destroys bacteria and enhances immune function.
Zinc: 30-80mg daily. Do not exceed a total of 100mg daily. Zinc aids in healing of tissues and helps to prevent scarring. It is a necessary element in the oil-producing glands of the skin.
There we go...that should be a good start. I hope it clears up soon and that I was helpful :)|||well my besst freind used to have really bad acne (face , back, chest) but her doctor also recommended acutane. and after 5-6 months of using her, all of her acne was completely gone. its been 6 months since shes stopped using it, and her face is still clear. so it really does work. but you have to keep going to the doctor every month or so to check your liver.. she neever had any of the side effects. so theres probably nothing to be scared of. i also find if i ever break out, i just go to the swimming ppool, and sit in the sauna/steam room for about 10-15 minutes, i used to do this everyday and my face stayed clearr. so ya :)
