I have hideous genetic acne that nothing cures (including stuff doctors give me).
I want to cover it up without caking on makeup. I%26#039;m tired of wearing a mask of foundation.
Is there a good way to cover up really bad acne (not just one zit) without piling on tons of makeup?
Any links, videos, pictures, tips, etc. will help! Thanks!|||Use tons of clearsil...that%26#039;ll cover it up!|||The best is mineral foundation, the loose kind. Liquids tend to slide right off. Always put on a primer underneath and then the make up for more coverage. Buy a kabuki brush or a foundation brush. My favorite for coverage is this one: http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?鈥?/a> But the kabuki works well too, and the coverage is buildable. For heavy concealing coverage, I really like prescriptive%26#039;s concealer that is in a tube. I%26#039;m not sure how good it is for your skin though. I had really bad acne and I started using the Obagi Clenziderm kit for oily skin and it helped me a lot. It%26#039;s expensive though. I%26#039;m still oily, but I don%26#039;t break out like I used to. Good luck!|||if must wear makeup. to help your acne drink lots of water. %26amp; i know its bad for your skin but laying out in the sun helps clear up my acne sometimes. also wash your face morning %26amp; night %26amp; use moisturizer.
for makeup you can go to a ulta %26amp; they have beginners kits for bare minerals (which is one of the best natural makeup there is) but make sure to ask them to see which color is you. =]
but if you use liquid make up put it on your index finger %26amp; rub your thumb %26amp; index finger together then dot it on your face %26amp; use a makeup sponge and spread it evenly. (rubbing the liquid makeup warms it up for your face %26amp; prevents it from caking.)
hope this helps. =]|||As a professional makeup artist and someone who has been there before, I can tell you, STAY AWAY FROM MAINSTREAM COSMETICS! They are loaded with toxic chemicals that cause ACNE. Even the ones that claim to help acne are major playors in causing acne. They use chemicals like propelyne glycol which is well known to cause acne or contact dermatitis, mineral oil which is a petrol (petroleum/gasoline by-product) it is gross and an outrage what they are allowed to put in cosmetics. Due to little to no regulations they can put whatever they like in your cosmetics. The best foundation I have used on cases of severe acne, is Faerie Organic Minerals. Their foundations are the best I have used as they are anti-inflammatory due to the minerals Zinc oxide and Titanium dioxide and they also are anti-bacterial due to the mineral Boron Nitride so they heal while they conceal, which is totally necessary for acne. Their makeup offers great buildable coverage so you can get the amount of coverage you need. They have free sample kits I highly recommend you try them out. They also have an amazing acne kit, that I personally use on all my clientele (with acne) that I have seen great results with, they may offer samples of these as well. Check them out here........http://www.faerieorganic.com|||I%26#039;m in the same boat! Its horrible since I%26#039;ve tried every treatment possible as well and nothing works!! and in my experience there is definitely no way without make-up unless you wanna wear a mask. Just try focusing on getting good quality make-up that will cover well but won%26#039;t look cakey. Bobby Brown has some really good products or MAC but theirs tons so I guess trial and error would be the best way to find out what works. I know that isn%26#039;t reassuring at all but its reality unfortunately. BUT if you haven%26#039;t tried Tetracycline or accutane (this dries the **** outta you though so you have to stock up on moisturizer) their worth a shot (talk to your dermatologist) they cleared me up temporarily at least.|||alright. FIRST OF ALL.
acne is not something that people %26#039;cause%26#039;, or %26#039;do to themselves%26#039;. telling someone that the reason they have complexion problems is because of something they%26#039;re doing on purpose is ignorant, and to be honest, really insensitive. do you really think that all of us in the world that have skin problems would continue using makeup if we knew it was causing the problems in the first place? acne is a medical disorder. the end.
I understand where you are coming from - i%26#039;ve struggled with my own skin issues for years. while it seems to be getting better with age (i%26#039;m 26), i know all too well the IMPOSSIBILITY of going around without makeup.
have you ever tried Clinique? while it is a little more expensive than drugstore brands, it lasts (as in..wont slide off your face) a hell of alot longer than covergirl/revlon etc., and it%26#039;s formulated for sensitive skin. they have a wide variety of lines that are designed for acne prone/oily/dry skin. I%26#039;ve been using it for years and have always been happy.
I%26#039;ve always found that the ladies that sell it are very well versed/experienced, and will help you find a shade and formula that will work for your skin type. Hope that helps :)|||you say you have redness?
you might wanna try to calm down that redness first before you put any kind of cosmetics on it.
ingredients in cosmetics can irritate already irritated skin.
use an anti-inflammatory, such as aloe vera or tumeric.
leave it on ur skin as mask to calm down the redness.
once your skin is calmed down. treat it. moisturize it.
i cant tell you wat to do with ur acne bc everyone responds differently to different products.
if you are going to put makeup on, make sure its minerals. liquid foundations can clog pores.
so use minerals [such as Everyday Minerals]
and to counter act with some red zits. use a green concealer.
apply the green concealer first, then apply a concealer 2 shades lighter than your skin color. then apply overall foundation.|||Mineral foundation works really well at covering blemishes and scars. It%26#039;s probably your best bet, because it doesn%26#039;t look like you%26#039;re wearing makeup like it does with ordinary liquid foundation. I%26#039;ve tried both the inexpensive version that L%26#039;Oreal makes, as well as the brand name version. The brand name one works best but the one by L%26#039;Oreal is still good. http://www.sheercover.com/ or http://www.bareminerals.com/|||there is this foundation called Natural Sensations, i try to find it but i just cant it amazing you put it on and its so light and blends well with skin tone so it dosent cakey.... i use the mineral powders to they also work pretty good to get rid of redness.... make sure to wash the make up off so it wont clog your pores and cause more acne, believe me i have the same problem. Hope i helped, GOOD LUCK|||The more make-up you wear the worse your acne problem is going to get. Try useing that mineral wear make-up if you REALLY HAVE to wear the stuff, I hear that%26#039;s like extreamly helpful.
Other wise I would just say go to a dermatolagist for this, and Keep your face clean all day. It helps to regularly wipe your face with clean wet cloths (with out soap).
Good luck :)|||Visit a local department store and ask for advice and samples. It is hard to say what could suit you. Otherwise, if this is a really bad case, ask your doctor for a referral to a dermatologist who will be able to prescribe some cover up make-up.|||i would recoment Mary kay full coverage foundation : http://www.marykay.com/color/foundations鈥?/a>
or you can take a look at all the other foundations they have : http://www.marykay.com/color//foundation鈥?/a>|||Revlon Color Stay works well for me. It%26#039;s full coverage so, ya know. Clinique has some great stuff. When I can afford it that%26#039;s what I use. Just go to a dept store and speak to one of the ladies who work that counter. They are trained to help you.|||try treating your acne with deep clean invigorating by neutrogena. it has salicylic acid in it.
for make up, try LOREAL true match. its a liquid foundation.|||i use nutrogena (or however its spelled)
BUT
HINT:
if you spray a tiny amount of water on your face before applying foundation, your foundation will NOT look cakey!|||mineral powder and pressed power are the best|||have you tried asking a muslim? their women seem to hide all kinds of acne. perhaps its just something in the water.|||Don%26#039;t wear makeup, it clogs your pores. And go to a dermatologist.|||clearasil skin color|||stop wearing makeup and let it clear...people wonder why their skins so bad...your clogging your pores|||i just use cover girl cover up it works for me but i dont have crazy acne
